Conflict Minerals

We at Viking Electronics take the issue of Conflict Minerals very seriously.  The mining of Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten and Gold (also known as 3TG) can directly or indirectly finance armed groups in Africa resulting in social abuses. These atrocities are occurring in the Democratic Republic of Congo (the “DRC”) and its surrounding countries, and must be opposed vigorously.

According to the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform and Consumer Protection Act, section 1502(b), all US publicly traded corporations must disclose the chain of custody usage of Conflict Minerals.  Viking Electronics is a privately held company and does not fall into the scope of this legislation. Even though we are not required to file form SD with the SEC, Viking Electronics is committed to the support of this effort. We are dedicated to responsible sourcing and have adopted the following policies:

  • Communicating to Viking customers and suppliers about the issue of Conflict Minerals via the Viking web site (vikingelectronics.com/conflict-minerals)
  • Viking Electronics expects its suppliers to source components that are free from the 3TG minerals and has added this requirement to all purchase orders.
  • If necessary, Viking will terminate the relationship with any vendors that are not in compliance with this federal regulation.

Viking Electronics will continue to be vigilant in its efforts to block the usage of Conflict Minerals in the components that make up our quality products. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

William H. Heideman
